Larry Potter is back in print! Remember Nancy Stouffer and her lawsuit againt JKR because she "stole her ideas"? Her book, starring Larry Potter is back in print. She is still claiming Rowling stole her ideas. Her characters WERE NOT COPYRIGHTED! She was going to have them copyrighted, however her original publisher went bankrupt. Harry Potter stamps? It's true! Here's what ITN had to say: Harry Potter holds the key to unlocking the magic of stamps for young collectors, Royal Mail bosses have been told. The Royal Mail should issue postage stamps featuring J K Rowling's fictional hero who has taken the world by storm, said stamp expert Peter Jennings. The Harry Potter stamps could even be "interactive" by incorporating secret messages and invisible witches and wizards which would appear at the touch of a warm hand or finger, he said. "If Royal Mail is serious about attracting new collectors, and in particular young people, to the hobby of stamp collecting, then they should issue Harry Potter stamps in November to coincide with the release of the Harry Potter film," said Mr Jennings, a Fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society. Book Day! Also from ITN: Harry Potter fans will also have the chance to take part in events for World Book Day - which coincides with the web showing. The annual tradition began in Catalonia, Spain where people celebrate St George's Day, by giving a book and a rose to a loved one. While it normally takes place on April 23, it was moved forward this year at the request of teachers. The aim of the event is to encourage reading among those who have not discovered, or who have forgotten its joys. As part of the event every school child in full-time education has received a £1 book token which can be redeemed during the next three weeks. Events taking place around Britain include: A cross-country relay with a van visiting different places to collect donations and books for the Book Aid International charity. Liverpool FC soccer stars teaching youngsters how to catch the reading bug. A 24-hour Harry Potter readathon in Letchworth, Herts, featuring local schoolchildren and MPs. A mass family reading party involving over 1000 people at Welwyn Garden City. In Birmingham, special poetry vans will be parked in the city encouraging people to write verse for a record-breaking chain of poetry. In Plymouth, footballers will be reading books in the goalmouth of their ground. In Cardiff, a poem specially to mark World Book Day and St David's Day will be broadcast from St David's Hall. JKR wins another award!!! And this is a big one... Rowling was awarded the Order of the British Empire at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Friday. The award was presented to her by the Prince of Wales. She was given the award because of her service to Children's Literature. Coke is to market the Harry Potter movie!!! The deal was to be valued at $150 million and was said that Coca-Cola was the sole marketing partner for the movie! Is the movie going to be released later than we thought? The BBC announced that because of bad wheather and teh originally scheduled Mid-March finish was backed up until July. However, Warner Brothers has said that it is "very unlikely" we will not see the movie released November 16, so don't worry too much! The first Harry Potter Trailer was recently released! It was shown on NBC's Extra, and is rumored to be one of the previews on the newe flick See Spot Run. It's great, I think. At first I thought the movie was going to be a little cheesy (You know how movies can be sometimes when they're books first.) but it was really good; dark and creepy. I moved the site back to Angelfire because Tripod was erasing my files for some reason, and Angelfire has all these little free graphics. :-) FRAMES AGAIN! Email me if they don't work for you. I'm thinking about putting up a Fan Art/ Fan Fiction section by me. You know, sort of like Mena Baines' "Hermione's World." The two new accompaniment books, Quidditch through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them have been released. To read what Amazon.com said about them, go here. A rumor has been released that the HP movie has promoted the talk of a Harry Potter cartoon series. If anyone has heard anything about it, please email me!
